Follis (Bronze, 26 mm, 4.65 g, 5 h), Constantinopolis, 931-944. +RⲰmAҺ bASILЄVS RⲰm Facing bust of Romanus I, bearded, wearing crown surmounted with cross and jewelled chlamys, holding labarum scepter topped by trefoil ornament in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left. Rev. +RⲰmA/Һ' ЄҺ ΘЄⲰ bA/SILЄVS RⲰ/mAIⲰҺ in four lines. DOC 25. SB 1760. An attractive example with a particularly bold portrait. Somewhat rough, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
